The NU Alum Fight Song

No, U Northwestern,
you won't get a dime
From those glossy mailers
that you send me all the time!

(No! Damn! Way!)

No, U Northwestern,
You've a hundred mil!
Ain't that enough to buy all your stuff
Without sending alums the bill?

(Bum ba-dum-pum-dum-dum-dum!
Bum-pa-rum-pum-pum-pum-pum!
Bum ba-dum-pum-dum-dum-dum!
Bum-pa-rum-pum-pum-pum-pum!
This is it! Now I'm pissed!
Take me off your mailing list!)

No, U Northwestern,
You won't get a cent
With the amount of your bank account
now, would it even make a dent?

No Easy Ryder

And you thought golf wasn't a sport. Let's see YOU hit a ball 112.5 miles!

Yes, I've been watching golf for seven hours so far today. Got a problem with that?

Alert! Alert! Alert!

The all-time greatest Simpsons episode (of course that's purely subjective, but it's my favorite, dammit, and it gets played about as often as Halley's Comet comes around) is on TONIGHT (Monday) at 10 on Fox! Lisa On Ice! Homer as the ultimate, mean-spirited, bad youth sports parent. The kind of asshole I deal with every stinkin' day. Comedy at its very finest.

I'm sitting here trying to pick the best line off the top of my head, and I can't. There are about 50 coming to me right now. Seriously. Fifty. Here's one.

"Oh my god, Marge. A penalty shot with only four seconds left. It's your child versus mine! The winner will be showered with praise; the loser will be taunted and booed until my throat is sore!"

If only they had had pee-wee hockey when Snake was a lad...

Don't blog!

Resist the blog.

Thoughts?

"I thought, personally, he had to go to the bathroom."

Nothing groundbreaking here, just an interesting story idea: Talk to the kids who got to hear My Pet Goat.

Mom: Ha ha, my son's gonna die, ha ha!

Conversate.

How to have better conversations.

Now, I'd be the first to say that I don't know everything, but I know what I like and, given that I'm human, want to maximize that experience. And I think this is a pretty good article about maximizing such. Because, like the writer:
-I enjoy good conversations
-I want to have more good conversations

This said, tips to keep the convo going and both people engaged seem pretty straightforward. Of course, this is best case scenario, when both parties really don't know what to expect, I'd imagine. I'm goingt o try this kind of thing out; see if I get anywhere.

People still call him "Dyche"

No, that's not a graphics goof-up. That's the dude's actual name. Turns out he works for FSN Detroit. Think they put him on the NU preview show just for shits and giggles?
