this is not the first article i wanted to see this morning..

randy walker dies suddenly of apparent heart attack.

i got nothing.

i do whatever the candy wrappers tell me to do...

a few of my co-workers and i have taken to collecting dove promises wrappers -- dove promises being the little candies that have sayings on the inside wrapper. i have a whole column of them in my cube and we add to them whenever one of us gets a new one that's worthy of being added to the wall. one of my favorites that didn't make it to the wall is "there's a time for compromise...it's called 'later.'"

but i say all of that 1) to clue you in on just how crazy my workplace is and 2) to share the latest saying that a co-worker got yesterday:

"temptation is fun...giving in is even better."

and in our ultimate lameness, we photocopied the wrapper so we'd each have one. my fellow inmates and i are easily amused by things like this. and i'm generous enough to share with you so you can all point and laugh and hope that you escape a similar fate. :P

Great America PSA!

I bought a Coke out of the machine at work recently, and learned that the can is worth a $15 discount off of admission to Great America! I bought a Diet Coke a few days later that has the same discount. I have not tried this with Sprite, yet, but will some time this week.

Out of state again.

The movers come for my stuff early tomorrow morning. I'm spending today cleaning and packing the last few things. I did sneak away to see the amazing Mitchell Park Domes, a great botanical garden, this morning. I have to take my cable modem back to the folks at Time-Warner in a few hours; then I'll be offline for at least a week. Next time I make contact, I will be a southerner, at least in address.

Yes. Afetr being quiet customers for three years, we get cut off for $23.31. It's not that we didn't pay, but COULDN'T, as their Billing site had been down for almost two weeks. Support had no answers, and when I attempted to prepay, I found out that it couldn't be done. Awesome.

So urbantherapy.org will be back. I saved most of the stuff we had up. Unfortunately, the site's construction (template, look, links, etc.) are gone. C'est la vie.

So I suppose we all learned what happens when the hosting company pulls the plug on you. Let that be a lesson to, well, someone.
