Take a Magical Journey...

Hey! You're not doing anything this Saturday, are you? I didn't think so. Well, you might want to make a trip out to the Niles Public Library, at 6960 W. Oakton. Yep, that's at the corner of Oakton and Waukegan. If you happen to arrive there by 2:00, you may want to walk into the large meeting room. That's the one on the first floor, conveniently located next to the restrooms. Anyway, there's a play called Magical Travels in the Land of Elf that is going to start at 2:00. You haven't heard of it? That's because it was written by teen volunteers! I've heard it's cute, and maybe even funny.

RIP Doug Marlette

Doug Marlette was always my favorite political cartoonist. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact that he drew for Newsday, which is the paper I read as a kid. But he was one of the greats. And there aren't many good ones left, since a lot of papers have gone away from having their own cartoonist, instead just picking up a syndicate to, what else, save costs.
