some of the best things in life are free...

i was at dominick's today buying things i forgot to get yesterday. i'm wandering the aisles b/c the store has been remodeled recently and i still don't know where half the stuff is, but (try to contain your shock) i wound up in the liquor department.

well, since i was there, i figured i may as well look around and see if anything caught my eye (read=was on sale). the wine department specialist dude (he had an apron that said wine specialist, so i was willing to go with it) was helping some other folks find stuff, and as they walked away, he said what could be some of the most glorious words ever uttered in the english language:

"free tequila samples! stop on by for free tequila!"

i did a double-take...free tequila? did i hear this man correctly? am i in an alternate universe? did i miss the unicorns outside? wtf?

"free tequila, ma'am. come on by when you're done browsing."

so, of course, i had to stop by. apparently cuervo is pushing their new aged tequila. the specialist dude asked if i wanted it straight or mixed with coca-cola.

i sniffed and swirled and knocked the mini-shot back. it's smooth, alright, but holy shit does it have a kick.

"it's on sale for $16.99 until the 11th."

did i buy a bottle? nope. paying for a bottle would've tarnished the whole "free tequila" experience.

there are times when i really love my life. this was definitely one of them. :-)
